After a successful first edition, URO – Gastro Fire Sessions returns to celebrate São Martinho with fire, flavours and memories.

On November 8th and 9th, from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PMTorel Avantgarde in Porto will once again be the venue for this unique gastronomic experience.

Chef João Figueirinhas, from Digby restaurant, welcomes four guest chefs to create dishes where fire is the true protagonist, in a celebration around the bonfire: Chef Diogo Novais Pereira from Porinhos restaurant, Chef Cristiano Barata from Mercantel restaurant, Chef Mirna Gomes from Soma restaurant, Verónica Dias and António Lamas, founders and head bakers of the Brites bakery and pastry shop..

Inspired by the traditional magusto, the event invites moments of gathering and sharing, bringing together chefs, producers, and local partners in an authentic and welcoming atmosphere.

The programme becomes even more vibrant live musicians, joined by the energy of a resident DJ, creating the perfect soundtrack for this celebration.

At the same time, the Urban Market Green will be taking place at the hotel entrance, bringing together brands, creators, and local artisans in fashion, jewelry, and decor, showcasing the region’s creative talent with a focus on quality, innovation, and design — always aligned with sustainability.

Tickets include exclusive food tastings prepared by the Chefs, traditional roasted chestnuts, and drinks

Chef of Digby, the restaurant hosting the event, he has remarkable international experience in fine dining, gained in Michelin-starred restaurants in Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Recognised as Chef of the Year 2024 and head of Porinhos restaurant, Diogo blends traditional flavours with modern techniques. At URO, he will create innovative dishes that reflect his passion, creativity, and deep connection to the roots of Portuguese cuisine.

Cristiano Barata | Mercantel

CHEF CRISTIANO BARAT
Born in Trás-os-Montes and trained at Cordon Bleu in London, Cristiano brought his passion for cooking to various projects in Portugal. Currently at the helm of Mercantel in Aveiro, he is renowned for his seasonal cuisine, which showcases local produce and wood-fired cooking techniques. At URO, he will share his authentic and passionate vision of gastronomy.

Mirna Gomes | Soma

CHEF MIRNA GOMES
A gastronome trained in São Paulo, she has worked in renowned kitchens such as Celler de Can Roca, Maní and Clandestino de Bel Coelho. In Portugal, she joined teams at Mito and Oficina and today runs her own project at Soma Café e Cozinha, where she combines informality with her passion for Portuguese and locally sourced products. At URO, she will present creative cuisine inspired by authenticity and seasonality.

Verónica Dias & António Lamas | Padaria Brites

BRITES
Born in the heart of Porto, Brites creates artisanal bread and pastries made with time, carefully selected ingredients, and no chemical additives. At URO, the founders and head bakers, Verónica Dias and António Lamas, will reveal their talent in the art of viennoiserie and baked goods, combining tradition, flavour and identity in each creation.
